VAUGHAN, ON -- The Ontario Soccer Association offers six seminars at its annual conference this year being held at the Westin Bristol Place Hotel, 950 Dixon Road, Toronto Airport. The intended audiences for all of these seminars are administrators and Board members of Clubs, Leagues, and District Associations. The OSA has lined up many excellent presenters - all highly regarded in their topic areas and every topic is very relevant to the current era of soccer administration. The presenters include Matthew Lynch (FSI England), Kim Cooper (PKF Hill, Chartered Accountants), Stephen Hart, Peter Montopoli and Dominic Maestracci (Canadian Soccer Association), Matthew Greenwood and Tom Wilkinson (Ontario Soccer Association) and Tia Wintre (HIGH FIVE Ontario). One of North America’s top parliamentarians, Jim Lochrie, has been enlisted to moderate our feature seminar on Sunday.
The Ontario Soccer Association is launching its new “Administration and Information Management System” in January 2009. AIMS will enable the management of every administrative function involved in organized soccer in Ontario including communications, websites, leagues, tournaments, cup competitions, exhibition games, team travel, discipline, appeals, clinics, certification, meetings, forums, referee assignments and various other administrative transactions. It will be fully automated and all modules within the system will be integrated. It is designed to eliminate a great amount of the manual work currently done by administrators at Club, League, District Association and OSA levels. The seminar includes a demonstration of the features of the first phase which is being launched in January. The presentation will be made by Matthew Lynch of First Sport International (the England based company developing AIMS) and by Tom Wilkinson, the OSA’s Manager of Information Services.
